Housing Assistance Corp. Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator in Hyannis, Massachusetts
Assess the needs of Family Self-Sufficiency participants & through case management, goal setting, referrals & monitoring, assist participants in achieving economic self-sufficiency. Essential Functions Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Section 8 regulations, especially as they pertain to Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) programs, & implement best practices. Remain current with all funding source guidelines at the federal, state, & local levels. Interview & determine the eligibility of applicants for FSS; Maintain participant waitlist as necessary. Work with participants to set goals for financial self-sufficiency & reevaluate goals periodically through the required ITSP. Monitor client needs & update case records. Maintain a database of participant goals & achievements in the Data Tracking Tool. Provide accurate & timely reporting of HUD reports, EOHLC quarterly report & EOHLC annual report. Perform escrow calculations at each rent calculation & enter data in the Escrow Reconciliation Tool. Monitor escrow or savings match balances (100% accuracy) & report account balance to participants semi-annually or in accordance with EOHLC policy Provide monthly FSS data to supervisor as requested. Provide participants with one-to-one counseling/mentoring & quality case management. Maintain client files in accordance with program regulations. Maintain participant data in Tenmast/Yardi. Ensure compliance of at least 30% of FSS participants with escrow balances On-going monitoring & verification of escrow account balances (100% accuracy), & report account balance to clients semi-annually in accordance with EOHLC policy. Refer participants to HAC?s financial literacy & housing counseling workshops. Work with program representatives & intake coordinator to recruit FSS participants from the Section 8 client base. Work with program representatives & intake coordinator to ensure timely processing of any FSS Participant action through required data system. Work with Leased Housing Staff to resolve tenancy problems that could affect their participation in FSS. Ensure accurate completion of the 50058. Meet or exceed 50 FSS participants. Attend meetings of the FSS Subcommittee of the RHN Rental Assistance Committee. Convene & facilitate regular meetings of HAC?s FSS Advisory Board; recruit & cultivate new members. Network & collaborate with community agencies to maintain viability of advisory board. Develop referrals & resources with businesses, educational institutions, service providers, & other agencies to help clients achieve their goals. Additional Duties Write & distribute FSS quarterly newsletter. Organize & manage other workshops for participants as needs or resources are identified. Serve as a liaison between HAC departments as they relate to FSS. Maintain FSS Procedures Manual. Required Qualifications, Education, & Experience Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of database setup & maintenance, an ability to work closely & effectively with low-income households, a good grasp of financial literacy principles, strong mathematical skills, the ability to follow & adhere to program rules & regulations. Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize & direct activities & services, communicate effectively, secure the cooperation of others. Demonstrated characteristics of initiative & resourcefulness, courtesy, & sensitivity to participant?s needs. Demonstrated use of independent judgement.
