Overview
Support programs that strengthen agriculture, horticulture, natural resources, and forestry across Utah. This internship provides hands-on experience assisting with research-based education and outreach, connecting university knowledge with real-world applications for producers, land managers, and communities. Interns will gain exposure to fieldwork, program delivery, and problem-solving in diverse agricultural and natural resource settings.
You'll join a team that values practical learning, stewardship, and strong community relationships. Work environments may include farms, gardens, natural areas, and community events, offering a dynamic and engaging experience. This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah, with in-person responsibilities in Hurricane, UT.
Responsibilities
Program and Event Support
- Work with Extension Faculty to develop a Junior Master Gardener Program and carry out 4-6 club meetings that will run from June - July
Education and Content Development
- Develop online resources specifically for Washington County, including a local plant list with photos found here: https://extension.usu.edu/washington/gardening/
Research and Evaluation
- Help with collection of insect trap data for ongoing research projects and data collection
Professional Development and Other Duties
Assist county faculty on site and farm visits around the county to gain real life experience in the field
