COUNTY OF IRON Economic Support Specialist in HURLEY, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Iron County Human Services is looking to hire a full-time Economic Support Specialist. This position is responsible to provide information about, determine eligibility and process public assistance cases for Medicaid, BadgerCare Plus, Food Share and other related programs. Duties include but are not limited to; interpretation and enforcement of all eligibility requirements including state and federal laws and policies, investigative interviewing, budget computation, and detailed case documentation. Iron County is a partner of the Northern Income Maintenance Consortium. All Economic Support Specialists within the Northern Income Maintenance Consortium are assigned tasks including staffing the eleven-county consortium Call Center. Tasks primarily consist of answering phone calls, Intake Applications, Renewals, ongoing case maintenance, resource identification and referrals. Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints. Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers\' problems. Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken. Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of claim investigation results or any planned adjustments. Determine charges for services requested, collect deposits or payments, or arrange for billing.
