General Requirements:
Master’s degree from an accredited university is required. A degree in agriculture sciences, business, agricultural engineering technology, science, education, or related field is desired. Substantial and proven executive experience in the program area or related. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Directs and provides strategic oversight of all program activities in support of the mission of the School of Agricultural Sciences. Actively identifies, develops, and strengthens workforce and industry partnerships within the Texas agricultural sector, ensuring alignment with and advancement of the school’s program areas and strategic priorities.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Directs the strategic vision to advance the mission and goals of the School of Agricultural Sciences. Cultivates and strengthens relationships with industry partners, workforce stakeholders, and external organizations to support program growth and workforce alignment. Collaborates with university leadership and external partners to develop and expand experiential learning opportunities, including internships, and to secure financial support through partnerships and philanthropic engagement. Leads initiatives that enhance research, outreach, and service efforts to benefit the school, college, alumni, donors, and agricultural industry stakeholders. Builds and maintains strong relationships with donors and industry leaders to support long-term program sustainability and growth. Establishes and expands workforce partnerships across Texas’ agricultural sectors and related industries. Performs other related duties as assigned.
