Usual duties: The Spanish Program at Sam Houston State University seeks lecturer-pool instructors for introductory and intermediate Spanish courses. Positions are primarily online with existing course infrastructure provided, allowing instructors to focus on teaching rather than course development.
Lecturer-Pool faculty teach one to four courses per semester based on enrollment. Course requirements may include a combination of teaching on-campus classes at the main campus in Huntsville, and online classes, depending on the needs of the academic department. Lecturer-Pool faculty hiring is based upon student demand, on a semester-by-semester basis.
Degree Requirements: The primary requirement for the position is the completion of 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish (i.e., beyond the Bachelors degree). The ideal candidate will also have prior experience and a strong interest in teaching Spanish at the university level.
Experience Requirements: Prior university-level teaching experience preferred.
