Job Title: Lead Mechanic

Pay: $41-43/hr

Job Description

The Lead Mechanic is a highly skilled technical role responsible for the disassembly, positioning, reassembly, testing, and painting of moderate to highly complex equipment. This position requires the use of manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools for fitting, adjusting, and securing maneuvers. The Lead Mechanic will clean, inspect, and repair natural gas engine and compressor components in a shop environment while adhering to all Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and regulations. In addition to executing expert-level mechanical work, the Lead Mechanic provides daily oversight of shop activities, serves as a technical resource to resolve complex issues, uphold quality standards, and support process improvements. The role may require overtime, weekend, and holiday work.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint complex equipment.

  • Use manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools for various maneuvers.

  • Clean, inspect, and repair natural gas engine and compressor components.

  • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and regulations.

  • Provide daily oversight of shop activities and serve as a technical resource.

  • Resolve complex mechanical issues and uphold quality standards.

  • Support process improvements within the shop.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Operations or service center operation applications.

  • Strong knowledge of natural gas engine and compressor cylinder equipment.

  • Ability to work independently according to engineering specifications.

  • Capability to perform complex troubleshooting and repair of equipment.

  • Experience in setting up and running test operations on sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

  • Proficiency in hydro pressure testing and functional testing of products.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and good housekeeping requirements.

  • Basic math skills and ability to read schematics.

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly or heavy equipment repairs and maintenance.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Experience in manufacturing or shop service center operations.

Work Environment

Work in a small shop environment with a focus on teamwork and quality. The position involves a Monday to Friday schedule during the first shift, with potential overtime, weekend, and holiday hours. Utilize a variety of tools including hand tools, pneumatics, hydraulics, and power tools in your daily tasks.

This is a Permanent position based out of Huntington, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85280.00 - $89440.00/yr.
