Actalent Quality/Blending Technician in Huntington, Indiana

HIRING NOW: Quality/Blending Technician

Position Summary

The Quality/Blending Technician is responsible for batching, mixing, testing, and verifying product quality for both customer orders and internal manufacturing needs. You’ll work closely with technical, production, and sales teams to ensure products meet strict quality and performance standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesBlending & Production Support

  • Batch, mix, and blend products according to specifications

  • Weigh, measure, and load raw materials into production equipment

  • Monitor blends for consistency, viscosity, and proper performance

  • Support manufacturing areas as needed

Quality Testing & Verification

  • Sample, test, and approve incoming raw materials and finished products

  • Perform routine and advanced quality tests (appearance, specific gravity, pH, refractive index, coating weight, adhesion)

  • Conduct panel tests for corrosion resistance and coating performance

  • Prepare internal lab samples and maintain retains inventory and rotation schedules

  • Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and maintain accurate QA documentation

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, SOPs, and customer requirements

Technical & Cross‑Functional Support

  • Assist chemists and technical staff with special projects

  • Support sales initiatives and customer‑driven testing projects

  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality system enhancements

Essential Skills

  • Quality control & quality assurance

  • Laboratory testing & documentation

  • Blending, mixing, or batching experience

  • QC analysis and data recording

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

Preferred Background & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is a plus

  • 1–3 years of experience in a GMP or quality-focused manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience with blending, mixing, or chemical handling preferred

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment working with metalworking fluids, lubricants, and coolants.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
