Robert Half Sr. Payroll Accountant in Huntington Beach, California
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Payroll Accountant to join our team in Huntington Beach, California. In this role, you will oversee essential payroll accounting functions, including reconciliations, financial analysis, and journal entries, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:
• Execute month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations for payroll, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accounts.
• Create and post journal entries with proper documentation to support financial reporting accuracy.
• Analyze and interpret financial statements, identifying and reporting significant variances or trends.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US standards.
• Perform reconciliations for intercompany transactions, maintaining proper documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional accounting teams to ensure comprehensive financial reporting.
• Support audits by working closely with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
• Handle payroll-related reconciliations and flux analysis to ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed, contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliation, and related journal entries.
• Familiarity with US accounting standards and a willingness to research and resolve accounting issues.
• Proficiency in financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is a plus.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage deadlines effectively.
