Position summary: JMT is seeking an energetic leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to serve as our Site Design Service Line Leader to grow our site design capabilities across the firm which includes civil engineers and landscape architects working in multiple offices and markets.
The Site Design Service Line Leader will be part of the firm’s Buildings & Facilities Business Line, which focuses primarily on government, institutional, and energy clients in a variety of markets. The Site Design Service Line Leader will coordinate closely with other business lines who also provide site design services to clients in other markets.
The successful candidate will serve in a companywide leadership role, coordinating across regions and markets to build alignment, strengthen collaboration, and shape a shared, strategic vision for how the site design service supports clients, projects, and long-term growth.

Compensation for this position is $200,000.00 - $260,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential functions and responsibilities
Practice Leadership & Community Building
Build and sustain a companywide community of practice for civil engineers, landscape architects, and site planners
Develop communication networks, forums, and regular touchpoints that connect staff across offices
Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and mutual support
Understand individual and team expertise and help align the right talent to the right opportunities
Strategic Vision and Growth
Define and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the site design practice
Develop and implement a strategic service line plan that aligns with regional, market, and business line objectives.
Identify priority markets, clients, and project types for growth
Lead the development of new or expanded services, integrated delivery approaches, or emerging capabilities
Client & Pursuit Support
Support regional managers, office leaders, and market leaders in driving business development and strategic pursuits within the service line by:
Helping shape win strategies
Aligning the best teams across offices
Contributing technical and strategic insight during proposals and interviews
Serve as a thought partner to clients and project leaders on complex or high-profile work
Help position the firm as a go-to site design partner for key clients
Operational and Financial Awareness
Understand and monitor the service lines’ key performance metrics and assess their effectiveness and performance across business lines, markets and regions.
Work with regional and business line leaders to identify corrective and enhancement strategies related to project delivery, profitability, and quality.
Resource Management/Worksharing
Manage consistent resource planning efforts at a regular cadence to advise regional leaders on staff demand, available capacity and evaluate hiring needs.
Lead collaborative worksharing efforts with regional leaders across the service line, assigning appropriate staff to balance workloads and cultivating technical expertise.
Project Delivery
Drive consistency across regional service line teams in executing projects, meeting quality standards, managing risk, problem solving, meeting deadlines, internal and external customer service and meeting overall client expectations.
Recruitment and Staff Development
Develop and annually update a skills matrix to inventory depth and location of service line skillsets and identify/address gaps and opportunities to enhance technical expertise.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship for the career development of regional service line team members in collaboration with regional leaders.
Collaborate with business line, market, and regional/office leaders in the recruitment of key hires.
Innovation
Monitor emerging technologies and technological trends related to the service line.
Lead service line specific innovation to drive operational efficiencies.
Identify and champion opportunities to drive innovative solutions as differentiators for major pursuits in collaboration with technology leaders and other stakeholders.

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or landscape architecture or related field
15+ years of experience in site design-related professional services
Professional licensure (PE, PLA, AICP or equivalent)
Strong understanding of:
Site development for buildings and infrastructure projects
Urban and master planning
Campus, community, and federal market requirements
Client delivery models
A/E or professional services business economics
Experience with operations, strategic planning, marketing, and business development
Experience working in a hybrid environment with dispersed teams
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Travel is expected throughout the United States to support the business line and the operations of our local offices.
