Job Title: Press Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to operate compression mold machines, producing rubber or plastic rings and seals used in the oil and gas industry. This role involves measuring and preparing powders and materials, setting up machines, and operating hydraulic presses to mold rubber preforms into seals.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect first run parts for defects and make necessary adjustments prior to production.

  • Turn, stack, and straighten preforms and parts while they are in the press.

  • Load press platens uniformly with molds of equal height.

  • Handle molds with care to prevent damage to critical machined surfaces, reporting any damage to the manager.

  • Verify proper fit of preforms in molds and report discrepancies to the Crew Lead.

  • Ensure proper engagement of molds when the press closes and pressure is applied, especially when molds are stacked.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of experience in press operating within a machine shop.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Experience in production and manufacturing settings.

  • General labor and production skills.

  • Proficiency with hand tools.

Work Environment

This position operates on the 2nd shift from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM in a shop environment. Steel-toed boots and safety glasses are required for safety compliance.

This position is a contract role for about 4 months but could go longer.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Humble, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.80 - $18.80/hr.
