Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Mostly 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM), rotating 12-hour shifts

during ship unloading

Pay Rate: 23.47–$28.00/hr

Job Description

• Diagnose problems and maintain a variety of material bulk handling equipment

• Assist in the transportation and movement of mechanical bulk handling equipment

• Assemble and install equipment such as drive motors, conveyors, and pulley assemblies

• Perform stick welding and/or cutting torch operations as needed

• Align machines and equipment for proper operation

• Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations or structures using bolts, welds, rivets, etc.

• Repair and lubricate material bulk handling machines and equipment

• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on equipment, and adjust

• Operate a variety of equipment such as cutting torch, welder, forklift, hand tools, and electric meters

• Lubricate moving parts, examine and operate repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications

• Perform activities of co-workers as directed

• Take direction and report to the Terminal Maintenance Supervisor

• As a member of the general maintenance crew, perform duties such as greasing/lubricating bearings, rollers, belts, overhead crane bucket, crane cable repairs, etc.

• Participate in discharging of vessels

• Perform other functions as trained and assigned

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huger, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
