HUDSON INDUSTRIES Quality Engineer in Hudson, Indiana

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality procedures as followed by instructing Quality Associates, Production Area Managers, and Production Associates of Hudson Industries Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions and coordinating problem solving and continuous improvement efforts per Midway Operating System (MOS) and Advance Quality Planning (APQP) process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Represents the Quality Manager in their absence on current production concerns.

  2. Responsibility for Ford and Toyota - Tier 1 and 2 Product

a. PPAP and customer problem resolution

b. Customer problem resolution

  1. Responsibility for MRB area (internal issues and scrap)

a. Keep in control and material moved within 5 days

b. Facilitate root cause for why made and why moved

c. Facilitate corrective actions

  1. Responsibility for EMS audits and reports

  2. Responsible for Quality Training

a. Orientation

b. Floor verification

c. Competency

  1. Participate in Process Confirmation process

  2. Participate in PJO/DKD process

  3. Implement action plans through customer and sister plant visits, benchmarking best practices utilizing the Midway Production System

  4. Conduct/facilitates problem solving.

a. Customer plant visits/8-D reports

b. Supplier concern auditor

c. SPC analysis

  1. Interfaces with plant, engineering, customer, supplier, and production personnel to enhance introduction of new parts into production. Member of the Plants APQP Core Team in planning for quality on new parts.

  2. Handle and tracks sample submissions as needed, including writing and updating control plans, FMEAs, inspection check sheet, reports, etc.

  3. Coordinates prototype documentation, tagging, and shipment.

  4. Conducts new employee quality orientation as needed.

  5. Has the authority to stop production operations concerning plant quality or safety issues.

  6. Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.

  7. If assigned, assists with internal EMS auditing and multiple other areas as directed.

  8. Performs other essential functions as assigned
