About the Role

The Technical Advisor – Software Development serves as a senior technical leader responsible for shaping and advancing the software architecture that supports Halliburton Project Management solutions.

This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership in the design, development, and integration of complex software systems, ensuring delivery of scalable, reliable, and fit-for-purpose applications aligned with business and operational needs.

As a key contributor to critical platforms (including IDOS), this position drives innovation, accelerates software delivery, and ensures technical excellence across multiple development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and evolution of software architecture for enterprise and engineering applications within Project Management.

• Provide technical leadership across multiple development teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices.

• Drive design and delivery of scalable, high-performance software solutions supporting well design, engineering workflows, and operational execution.

• Serve as a key architect for critical applications (e.g., IDOS), ensuring continuity, maintainability, and long-term scalability.

• Challenge and improve software development processes to enhance speed, quality, and delivery efficiency.

• Partner with product management, engineering, and operations teams to align software solutions with business objectives and field requirements.

• Translate complex technical and domain requirements into practical system designs and development roadmaps.

• Oversee system integration, data flows, and interoperability across platforms and digital ecosystems.

• Mentor and guide software developers, fostering technical excellence and capability development.

• Contribute to product planning and technology strategy for full lifecycle software systems.

• Stay current with emerging technologies in software and oil & gas, applying innovations to improve solutions.

• Represent Halliburton in industry groups, technical forums, and collaborative initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.

• 10+ years of experience in software development, including leadership of complex, system-level projects.

• Proven experience in software architecture, system design, and enterprise application development.

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, system integration, and scalable architectures.

• Experience leading or influencing multiple development teams in a technical leadership capacity.

• Ability to bridge technical solutions with business and operational requirements.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

• Experience in oil & gas, engineering software, or technical applications supporting well design or operations.

• Familiarity with cloud architectures, data platforms, and modern development frameworks.

• Participation in industry groups, technical committees, or professional organizations.
