Honeywell Sr M&A Manager - Honeywell Process Automation in Houston, Texas

Honeywell Process Automation is expanding into adjacent technology domains across automation, industrial AI, digital platforms, cybersecurity, and energy transition. As the business advances toward its $5B growth ambition, inorganic growth will be an important lever for entering emerging markets, strengthening capabilities, and accelerating strategic expansion.

The Senior Manager, M&A will support this agenda through technology space analysis, ecosystem mapping, target identification, financial modeling, and build, partner, or buy assessments. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, market intelligence, and transaction support, helping leadership identify and evaluate high-potential growth opportunities across priority domains.

Technology Space and Market Analysis

  • Analyze emerging technology spaces across automation, industrial software, AI, cybersecurity, and energy transition markets.

  • Identify growth adjacencies and white-space opportunities aligned with Process Automation’s strategic priorities.

  • Assess market attractiveness, growth dynamics, customer needs, and competitive structure within selected domains.

  • Support market sizing efforts, including TAM, SAM, and related opportunity modeling where relevant.

Ecosystem Mapping and Competitive Intelligence

  • Develop and maintain ecosystem maps of startups, scale-ups, incumbents, and relevant partners across priority technology areas.

  • Track venture funding activity, emerging technologies, competitive moves, and other market signals that may shape strategic decisions.

  • Synthesize external intelligence into clear implications for Honeywell’s positioning and inorganic growth priorities.

Target Identification and Screening

  • Identify potential acquisition and partnership targets aligned with strategic objectives and capability gaps.

  • Screen opportunities based on strategic fit, market relevance, competitive positioning, and financial profile.

  • Support engagement with business and product leaders to validate opportunity relevance and potential fit within the portfolio.

Build, Partner, or Buy Analysis

  • Support strategic assessments of whether capabilities should be developed internally, accessed through partnerships, or acquired through M&A.

  • Evaluate tradeoffs related to time to market, differentiation, scalability, and investment requirements.

  • Help frame recommendations that balance strategic value with execution feasibility.

Strategic Analysis, Financial Modeling, and Leadership Briefings

  • Prepare technology landscape reports, opportunity assessments, executive briefings, and investment theses for leadership review.

  • Translate complex market and technology findings into clear, decision-oriented insights.

  • Build and maintain financial models to support market sizing, target screening, valuation framing, scenario analysis, and business case development for acquisition and partnership opportunities.

  • Support strategic and financial analysis for selected acquisition and partnership opportunities, including early-stage diligence and preliminary valuation assessment.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, strategy consulting, or corporate strategy

  • Strong market research, competitive analysis, and strategic problem-solving capabilities

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and Excel skills, including experience supporting valuation, scenario analysis, and investment decision-making

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related field

  • MBA or other advanced degree

  • Experience in industrial technology, automation, software, or energy-related markets

  • Experience conducting technology landscape, ecosystem, or adjacency analysis

  • Familiarity with M&A related technologies & platforms such as Pitchbook, Midaxo, Datasite, or DealRoom

  • Experience building financial models to support M&A screening, business cases, valuation assessment, or strategic investment analysis

  • Exposure to commercial due diligence, transaction support, or post-merger integration planning.

  • Ability to translate technical or market complexity into clear business implications and executive-level recommendations
