Robert Half Sr. Corporate Accountant in Houston, Texas

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will apply your expertise in accounting principles and practices to support accurate financial reporting and provide valuable insights to management. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving accounting policies, procedures, and standards while ensuring compliance with company guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure accurate reporting.

• Perform general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations to support financial accuracy.

• Analyze and explain monthly variances in financial statements to provide clear insights to management.

• Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of transactions.

• Oversee intercompany accounting activities, including eliminations and reconciliations, to maintain consistency across entities.

• Monitor and manage fixed assets and capital expenditures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets and create detailed financial reports.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations and implement effective solutions.

• Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

• Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, including month-end close activities and variance analysis.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software, with expertise in managing large datasets.

• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, ensuring high accuracy in financial reporting.

• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

• Experience in intercompany accounting and fixed asset management is highly desirable.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
