Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group, is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to drive growth within our Security & Low Voltage business. This role is responsible for generating and qualifying new opportunities through outreach, marketing collaboration, and industry engagement, while serving as a brand ambassador at events and across digital platforms. Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Pipeline Development

  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads generated through marketing and business development efforts

  • Conduct outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other platforms to identify customer needs and project opportunities

  • Research and target key industries, including commercial real estate, healthcare, education, multi-family, industrial, retail, and government

  • Identify opportunities related to:

  • Access Control Systems

  • Video Surveillance (CCTV)

  • Intrusion Detection Systems

  • Structured Cabling

  • Audio/Visual Systems

  • Network Infrastructure

  • Smart Building Technologies

  • Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings for Account Executives and Sales Engineers

  • Maintain accurate and consistent activity tracking within CRM systems

    Industry Engagement & Event Representation

  • Represent Convergentz at trade shows, networking events, association meetings, and industry functions

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, partners, and industry professionals

  • Gather market intelligence and identify emerging trends and opportunities

  • Support event planning efforts to enhance brand visibility and engagement

    Marketing Collaboration & Content Development

  • Partner with marketing to support campaigns promoting Security & Low Voltage solutions

  • Contribute ideas and content for:

  • Podcasts and webinars

  • Case studies and success stories

  • Blog posts and LinkedIn content

  • Video and digital media initiatives

  • Provide real-time field insights to strengthen messaging and campaign effectiveness

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to drive innovative marketing strategies

    Brand Representation & Industry Awareness

  • Develop a strong understanding of Convergentz solutions and industry trends

  • Serve as a knowledgeable and professional point of contact for prospective clients

  • Effectively communicate value propositions and maintain consistent follow-up

    Qualifications:

    Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales development, inside sales, marketing, or a related role

  • Strong interest in technology, security systems, or low-voltage solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable networking and engaging in both virtual and in-person environments

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up

  • Ability to quickly learn technical concepts

  • Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)

  • Proficiency with LinkedIn and digital engagement tools

    Preferred

  • Experience in security integration, low voltage, IT infrastructure, or construction-related industries

  • Exposure to trade shows, events, or industry networking

  • Interest in content creation, social media, or podcasting

  • Understanding of B2B sales processes

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
