Job Description
Technical Sales Representative for industrial rental products (including but not limited to NDT/RVI/XRF) is responsible for developing a sales strategy for a defined territory, implementing the sales plan, and promoting the company's products, rentals and services, with the goal of attaining a sales target.
The Technical Sales Rep will be responsible for knowing the technical features of all rental products and be able to effectively discuss product specifications and application solutions with customers.
In addition to technical knowledge, the Technical Sales Rep. will also be responsible for knowing how to perform and manage the selling process.
Since this is an outside sales position, the Technical Sales Rep. will be expected to travel most of the time to meet customers for the purpose of selling rental products and promoting product sales.
This is a field-based position located in the Houston, TX area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet the sales target for ad defined territory on all products.
Visit existing and prospective customers to discuss rental and product sales opportunities daily in the assigned territory.
Follow-up on all leads and respond to all customer phone calls and emails in a timely manner
Prospect, cold call and run targeted email campaigns to identify new business opportunities.
Work closely with the Rentals Business Manager and others to coordinate the overall selling efforts of the company.
Complete, review, and improve a high-level Sales Plan that includes an action plan for increasing sales to active and prospective customers, schedule full coverage of the territory, maintain an elevated level of in-field time, and continually improve product knowledge.
Utilize the company CRM package for completing daily tasks and management reporting.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience required.
Experience providing industrial product technical support or sales to customers for at least 6 months.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to learn and retain scientific principles and technology of the equipment. Self-directed, initiative-taking, and strategic thinker.
Strong computer skills including but not limited to MS Office.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Approximately 70% travel within a given territory.
Must be based out of the Houston area.
Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range is $90,000 - $130,000, which includes base salary (or annualized hourly compensation) and commission incentives. Commission is uncapped, offering unlimited earning potential.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The total expected compensation range is $90,000 - $130,000, which includes base salary (or annualized hourly compensation) and commission incentives. Commission is uncapped, offering unlimited earning potential. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
