The Project Controls Manager leads all planning, cost control, risk management, and performance reporting functions across Data Center projects. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining an integrated control framework that accurately reflects project status and enables proactive, data-driven decision-making.
As a hands-on leader, the Project Controls Manager works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction teams to ensure cost and schedule discipline in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key Objectives
Establish and sustain an integrated project controls system encompassing schedule, cost, progress, and risk
Deliver accurate, timely performance insights to support executive decision-making
Identify deviations early and drive corrective actions to protect cost and schedule commitments
Lead and develop the project controls team to ensure consistency, rigor, and accountability
Promote transparency and alignment across all project disciplines
Core Responsibilities
Develop and manage the integrated project baseline, including schedule, cost structure, and progress measurement methodology
Lead preparation of recurring performance reports, including cost forecasts, schedule updates, earned value analysis, and variance reporting
Ensure alignment and data integrity across planning, cost control, and risk management functions
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Engineering teams to maintain realistic forecasts for procurement and construction activities
Oversee change management processes, ensuring scope variations are properly identified, quantified, and approved in accordance with contract requirements
Monitor contractor performance and validate reported progress against field data and contractual milestones
Facilitate risk reviews, contingency evaluations, and development of mitigation or recovery plans
Mentor and guide project control engineers and schedulers, fostering a culture of analytical rigor and continuous improvement
Experience
18+ years of progressive experience in project controls within large-scale construction or industrial environments
Strong expertise in cost control, planning and scheduling, and earned value management principles
Demonstrated success in performance reporting and translating data into actionable project strategies
Proven leadership managing multidisciplinary project controls teams
Experience delivering large-scale Data Center or mission-critical facilities for major technology clients is highly preferred
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related discipline
Preferred
Professional certifications such as AACE CCP, PSP, or PMI-SP
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
Strong analytical capability using Excel, Power BI, or comparable reporting tools
