MiTek Inc. seeks to hire an Operations Engineering Manager - Building 3 for its Houston, TX location to provide leadership to ensure ongoing process improvement initiatives that deliver excellence across the entire value chain. This role coordinates and leads facility resources and employees to meet or exceed company business objectives. The Operations Engineering Manager organizes strategic initiatives and utilizes enterprise standards. Also responsible for the design and operation of integrated systems for the production of MiTeks high-quality, economically competitive products. Specific duties of the position include: oversee, direct, and assign activities and responsibilities to Plant building staff to ensure the highest operating standards regarding the facility; coordinate and supervise staffing activities, reviewing performance and initiating corrective action where required; create a safe and healthy work environment by establishing practices, policies, and initiatives; prepare and maintain production, engineering reports, and personnel records; define resource needs, working within budget, and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives in the area of responsibility; manage product, material, and information stream flow, which are synchronized to produce maximum efficiencies and the lowest cost of operation; drive facility operations priorities to meet or exceed customer expectations, meet goals identified through SMART goal deployment, achieve production Key performance indicators, and maximize employee contribution; lead the ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures, and process documentation; assess and improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization's mission; utilize ERP software for production planning and inventory management; oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of Plant Equipment and infrastructure to reduce downtime and maximize productivity. Additional duties include: account for and own detailed execution processes behind manufacturing orders/projects with the support of our operations team; own assigned projects serving both internal and external customers while providing schedule updates and communicating ongoing status updates and change order details, as appropriate; provide direction to design and production personnel to ensure manufacturing specifications are adhered to, execution budgets are maintained, and shipments meet our promised commitment dates to our customers; drive timely project hardware/material purchases working with our procurement team to improve deliveries and better leverage project spend; take direction from the financial execution team to respond to changing cost and revenue trends as well as ensuring accurate manpower and procurement forecasting reports are maintained monthly; present in weekly project performance reviews with the operations team for your project(s) and identify risks/challenges to insure accurate resource forecasting, successful completion, and customer satisfaction; provide first line technical support for manufacturing personnel assigned to your projects and escalate to engineering personnel, as required; support proposal efforts as required to ensure sufficient operations budgets are included in all offers; own continuous improvement initiatives with other teammates across our operations to drive optimal organizational processes; comply with all MiTek policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice; and adhere and endorse MiTek Core Values. Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronic Engineering, or closely related field. Must possess 60 months experience in project management and process machinery validation. Must also possess some experience in project quote and budget allocation. Salary is $146,349 per year.
