Job Description Summary
The High Voltage GIS Site Supervisor is responsible for on-site supervision of installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization (retrofit) activities for GIS substations. The role represents GE Vernova on site and ensures work is executed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with EHS requirements, U.S. regulations, and GE Vernova standards.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate GE Vernova field teams and subcontractors
Plan and manage installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization activities for HV GIS systems (69 kV – 800 kV)
Ensure work is performed in accordance with GE Vernova procedures, IEC / IEEE standards , contract requirements, and customer expectations
Enforce strict compliance with GE Vernova EHS policies and site safety rules
Monitor work quality and manage inspections, audits, and hold points
Lead safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSA/AHA) , and daily toolbox talks
Serve as the primary on-site interface with the customer
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve GIS-related technical issues
Prepare daily, weekly, and final site progress reports
Support commissioning and high-voltage testing activities when required
Coach and mentor junior supervisors and technicians
US Regulatory Compliance – OSHA & Safety
The Site Supervisor is accountable for compliance with U.S. safety regulations, including:
Compliance with OSHA regulations, including:
29 CFR 1910 – General Industry
29 CFR 1926 – Construction
Enforcement of NFPA 70E electrical safety and arc flash requirements
Implementation and verification of Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Ensuring JSA / AHA are completed, communicated, and followed prior to work execution
Verification of required training, certifications, and PPE for all site personnel
Participation in EHS audits, OSHA inspections, and corrective action plans
Exercising Stop Work Authority when unsafe or non-compliant conditions are identified
Promoting GE Vernova’s Zero Harm safety culture on site
Skills & Qualifications
Proven expertise with High Voltage GIS substations (69 kV – 800 kV)
Strong background in installation, maintenance, repair, and retrofit activities
Solid knowledge of EHS, OSHA, NFPA 70E , and LOTO requirements
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and layout drawings
Strong field leadership and customer communication skills
Fluent in English (spoken and written); French is a plus
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Education
Technical degree or engineering background in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
HV, EHS, OSHA, NFPA 70E certifications are an advantage

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,400.00 and $152,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
