Nuclear Engineer – Instrumentation & Control
BWR Control Systems Experience Required

Pay: $90.00–$109.00/hr
Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Nuclear Instrumentation & Control Engineer with strong Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) control systems experience to support advanced reactor protection and plant control systems. This role focuses on designing and analyzing safety‑related and non‑safety‑related I&C systems for commercial nuclear plants and test facilities.
This is a high‑impact, hands‑on technical role offering fully remote flexibility, minimal travel, and competitive compensation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and evaluate reactor protection, plant investment protection, and balance‑of‑plant I&C systems
Apply control theory, modeling, and closed‑loop feedback algorithms to system design
Lead or support engineering design from FEED through detailed design
Develop control logic, specifications, diagrams, and technical documentation
Build physics‑based and logic simulation models to support analysis and verification
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with BWR instrumentation and control systems
BS in Engineering or related technical degree
10+ years of experience in nuclear or other safety‑critical industries
Strong experience with PLCs, DCS platforms, IEC standards, and digital design tools
Experience developing system requirements, diagrams, and control algorithms
5+ years working with complex, real‑time control systems
Work Environment
Fully remote role with only occasional meetings or workshops (Wilmington, NC).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $109.00/hr.
