ALIFE Hospitality Group is seeking an Expo (Expeditor) to help keep service moving accurately and efficiently between the kitchen and front-of-house team. This role is responsible for checking ticket accuracy, coordinating order timing, verifying plate presentation and food quality, communicating updates to servers and food runners, and maintaining a clean and organized expo line. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to stay calm and organized during busy service periods.

Compensation

$15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main communication link between kitchen staff and front-of-house team during service
  • Review tickets and orders to help ensure food is prepared, plated, and sent out accurately
  • Verify order accuracy, portion consistency, plate presentation, and food quality before items leave the kitchen
  • Help coordinate order timing so food is delivered in the proper sequence and timeframe
  • Communicate special requests, modifications, delays, and order updates clearly to servers and food runners
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized expo line throughout the shift
  • Restock expo supplies such as plates, trays, garnishes, silverware, and related service items as needed
  • Support food runners with large, complex, or high-volume orders when necessary
  • Assist with packaging takeout or delivery orders as needed
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times
  • Report delays, ticket flow issues, recurring errors, or quality concerns to management
  • Support training of new staff on expo procedures and service standards
  • Assist in upholding company standards across front- and back-of-house teams
  • Set up expo station before service and confirm required supplies, tools, and ticket systems are ready
Required Qualifications
Must-Haves
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Open availability, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
  • Ability to handle trays, plates, and food items safely and efficiently
  • Food handler certification required
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 1 year of related restaurant or food service experience
  • Experience with food running, expo line procedures, or fast-paced service operations
  • Strong teamwork, urgency, and ability to multitask under pressure
Work Environment / Schedule

This is a fast-paced restaurant environment requiring constant coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams. The role includes standing for long periods, moving quickly during service, handling trays and plated food, and working around hot food, busy pass lines, and crowded service areas. Open availability is required and may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
