Description We are looking for an experienced Division Controller to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is crucial in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining the integrity of cost accounting processes within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and extensive expertise in financial management to support the company’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting processes, ensuring proper allocation of costs and accurate tracking of work-in-progress (WIP).
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support decision-making and operational strategies.
• Monitor and manage cost accounting systems to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and enhance cost efficiency.
• Provide strategic guidance and recommendations on financial performance and improvements.
• Develop and implement controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Train and mentor accounting staff to enhance their skills and performance.
• Support audits and provide necessary documentation to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Serve as a key advisor to leadership on financial matters and long-term planning. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or controllership roles, preferably within manufacturing.
• Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking.
• Proven ability to lead and manage financial teams effectively.
• Proficiency in implementing and maintaining cost accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
