Applied Technical Solutions – Field Service Tech Support Engineer drives the troubleshooting and modernization of turbo compressor systems to restore performance, reliability, and safe operation. The role focuses on analyzing complex compressor systems, developing practical upgrade solutions, and supporting failure analysis and equipment replacement. Working closely with global experts and field teams, you help bring compressors back online using modern tools and advanced technologies.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Provide advanced remote technical support to Field Service Engineers during complex on-site compressor and rotating equipment service activities.

  • Analyze and diagnose critical technical issues, applying engineering expertise to identify root causes and develop effective corrective solutions.

  • Lead technical coordination between field teams, service management, and engineering specialists to ensure efficient issue resolution.

  • Support modernization, repair, and upgrade projects by specifying compressor systems, auxiliaries, and replacement equipment.

  • Document technical findings, solutions, and lessons learned to strengthen knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the service network.

  • Contribute to technical capability building by guiding FSEs, supporting training efforts, and staying current with emerging technologies and industry developments.

What You Bring

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 10+ years working on rotating machinery such as centrifugal, axial, or integrally geared compressors.

  • Minimum 5 years of analytical engineering experience with strong knowledge of compressor manufacturing, assembly, and sub assembly processes.

  • Proven capability in reverse engineering and dimensional inspection of compressor components using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, laser scanners) and validating technical findings from global repair centers.

  • Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex mechanical systems to support troubleshooting and solution development.

  • Effective communicator who can work independently or collaborate with global engineering and field service teams on technically demanding projects.

  • Self-driven and well organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks while supporting international service activities with up to 25% travel.

This job may be based in New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $93,000 to $133,000 and the annual incentive target is 10% of base salary.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
