Role Overview

The Telecommunications Analyst III – POTS Transition supports the POTS Transition Team, which is responsible for implementing POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) replacement solutions and coordinating field execution activities. This role focuses on managing end‑to‑end replacement efforts, including site coordination, service provider engagement, installation oversight, post‑cutover validation, and savings calculation.

The position works closely with the Disconnect Coordination Team (DCT) to ensure timely execution of disconnect activities once replacement solutions are fully implemented. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with legacy voice and data circuits, strong field execution capabilities, and the ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement POTS replacement solutions at field locations

  • Coordinate with site contacts, service providers, vendors, and telecom carriers

  • Schedule and manage site surveys and oversee installation activities

  • Validate operational readiness following cutover

  • Calculate cost savings associated with completed POTS replacements

  • Notify the Disconnect Coordination Team (DCT) once replacements are complete and disconnects can proceed

  • Maintain effective cross‑functional communication to ensure accurate execution and alignment

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of POTS replacement initiatives across assigned locations

  • Gather and validate requirements in collaboration with site contacts and stakeholders

  • Coordinate site surveys, installation schedules, and service provider activities

  • Oversee replacement installations and confirm services are functioning as intended post‑cutover

  • Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and status updates to project leadership and stakeholders

  • Track progress, timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple initiatives

  • Calculate and document realized cost savings tied to completed replacements

  • Maintain accurate records in designated tracking and reporting systems

  • Collaborate closely with the Disconnect Coordination Team (DCT) to enable follow‑on disconnect execution

Key Interactions

This role works closely with a broad range of internal and external partners, including:

  • Internal site contacts and business stakeholders

  • Telecommunications carriers and service providers

  • Vendors supporting surveys and installations

  • Sourcing and digital teams

  • Disconnect Coordination Team (DCT)

  • Project and operational leadership

Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the telecommunications or network industry

  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with legacy telecommunications services, including:

  • Analog dial tone (POTS)

  • Legacy voice and data circuits

  • Experience working in analytical, operational, or technical support roles related to telecom or network services

  • Strong understanding of circuit‑based services, telecom billing concepts, and inventory/asset tracking

  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and support reporting activities
