Grand County GIS Intern in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado
Department: GIS (Information Systems)
Location: Remote; Candidates local to the area are considered ideal for the occasional in-person collaboration.
Variable Hours Position: Flexible, up to 37.5 Hours a week; 6-12 months
Pay range: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (hiring rate DOQE)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Intern to assist our team with high-precision land records maintenance. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a live, multiuser Enterprise Geodatabase environment. The intern will focus on the reconciliation of parcel data, the construction of subdivision and block layers, and the processing of land use edits derived from legal documents and Assessor instructions.
Position Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Geography, GIS, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of land records and the Public Land Survey System (PLSS)
• Ability to work meticulously in a complex Multiuser Enterprise Environment (understanding of versioning is a plus).
