Wabtec Corporation Engineer - Field Services in Hosur, India

Job Description

Key missions of the position:

  • Planning and Implementation of all the retrofits/maintenance & overhauling of products at Customer site

  • Secure product performances by monitoring and implementing the containment actions, troubleshooting etc.

  • Having regular meetings with customer for the product performance and getting it sign-off on periodic basis as per the contractual requirements

  • Improve Customer response time

  • Cost Effectiveness by improving efficiency during warranty intervention, preventive and corrective maintenance, overhauling.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver warranty services from delivery of the product to the end of warranty period

  • Support during the commissioning of the Product/System on train and Locomotive

  • Analyse support request and work in collaboration with other train systems (propulsion, TCMS etx) support team at command centre

  • Log/record the support requests with details of information shared and actions advised

  • Follow-up on the actions advised and status of the issue

  • Initiating, recording, managing and resolving issues and escalating when needed to the Senior Management, as requested.

  • Participate in customer meetings

  • Improve Customer response time

  • Execute all Field scheduled operations (retrofit, overhaul, maintenance etc.) in order to meet FT objectives and Customer requirements

  • Provide support to Engineering & Quality team for effective problem solving

  • Ensure availability and use of special tools for Warranty & Customer support

  • Ensure feedback of field experience at all stages to improve reliability of the products

  • Challenge Customer’s claim and establish authenticity of customer warranty claim

  • Responsible of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) organization & deployment

  • Periodic reporting of the open points of Customer and follow ups till the action is closed.

  • Ready to travel minimum 50% of the time

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics

Professional Experience

  • Should have minimum 5 years of experience as services engineer

Key Competences

  • Excellent coordination, documentation, and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills, Flexible attitude to work in a changing environment, Presentation skills,

  • Should have a good technical understanding of electrical and pneumatic products/ circuits. Relevant rolling stock experience is preferable

  • IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft Office applications

Languages

  • English, Hindi, Regional language is an added advantage
