Position: Staff Accountant
Department: Accounting
Schedule: Full‑Time, 5 days per week; additional hours as needed for special projects
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Department by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with general ledger reconciliations, month‑end close, audits, reporting, and tax filings. This role works collaboratively with accounting leadership to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts
Assist with preparation and analysis of financial and administrative reports
Participate in month‑end, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
Support year‑end audits by preparing schedules, work papers, and requested documentation
Assist management with accounting procedures, internal controls, and system improvements
Prepare, process, and file federal, state, and local tax documents in a timely and accurate manner
Respond to accounting inquiries professionally and efficiently
Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years
High school diploma or GED required
College degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Previous experience in a similar accounting role preferred
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
Strong computer literacy and ability to learn accounting systems

Qualifications
Education
Required
- High School or better
Preferred
Bachelors or better in Finance
Associates or better in Accounting Systems
Experience
Required
Experience processing or supporting tax filings and working with accounting systems, spreadsheets (Excel), and financial records in a professional environment.
Experience assisting with audits, financial reporting, and documentation, including preparation of schedules and work papers.
Experience performing general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting month‑end, quarterly, and year‑end close processes.
