The lake life is calling! Do you have a passion for baking? Wouldn't it be sweet to get paid for it? Horseshoe Bay Resort is looking for a talented Pastry Cook to join our award-winning Banquets Culinary Team.

Working in our high-volume bakeshop, you will help craft the cakes, pastries, and decadent desserts that define our luxury events. Whether it's a grand wedding or an intimate corporate retreat, your talents will ensure every guest ends their meal with a world-class treat.

Your Impact: Culinary Artistry & Precision

You will personally perform the baking and decorating tasks required to provide consistent, high-quality pastries for the entire resort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pastry Production: Follow standard recipes and daily production schedules to prepare quality breads, pastries, and sweets for banquet events.

  • Plating & Presentation: Utilize fundamental pastry techniques to create beautiful, resort-standard plate presentations.

  • Operational Excellence: Maintain shift operations in compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Food Safety: Uphold strict sanitation and food safety standards in accordance with local, state, and federal (Health Department/OSHA) regulations.

  • Supply Management: Work efficiently with supplies and assist in managing inventories to minimize waste and support the culinary budget.

  • Team Collaboration: Maintain open, collaborative relationships with fellow associates to ensure a smooth-running, high-energy kitchen environment.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience: 4 years of culinary/F&B experience with a High School diploma/GED OR 2 years of experience with a degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.

  • Technical Skill: Solid knowledge of pastry techniques, baking temperatures, and decorating fundamentals.

  • Professionalism: A "Team-First" attitude with the ability to follow complex instructions and maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.

  • Communication: Basic oral and written English skills to navigate recipes and communicate with the leadership team.

  • Physical Stamina: Physical strength and agility to move quickly in a kitchen and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Requirements: * Must be 18+ years of age.

  • Current Food Handler’s Certificate required.

  • Commitment to wearing slip-and-oil-resistant, enclosed safety footwear.
