Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

The Production Operator plays a key role in a high-volume manufacturing environment by safely handling, packaging, and moving graphite products while maintaining quality standards. This position works 12-hour rotating shifts and involves operating forklifts, performing physical tasks such as lifting and palletizing, and supporting shipping and receiving activities in a fast-paced, industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Bag and palletize product according to specific instructions and order types.

  • Vacuum large quantities of product from storage holders into industrial bags while following safety and quality procedures.

  • Sort bags and pallets of product to ensure accurate organization and inventory flow.

  • Stage and wrap pallets for storage or outbound shipments.

  • Load and unload shipments using appropriate material handling equipment.

  • Perform quality inspections on bags, pallets, and containers to confirm they meet company standards.

  • Operate a forklift safely to move materials and finished products throughout the facility.

  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including staging, organizing, and verifying incoming and outgoing materials.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment while working in a dusty, hot, and noisy environment.

  • Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient and organized production area.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production worker role.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform palletizing, staging, and lifting tasks in a warehouse or production setting.

  • Forklift operation experience in an industrial environment.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving, and handling heavy bags and pallets.

  • Comfort working 12-hour rotating shifts, including both day and night shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in general production, bagging, and palletizing processes.

  • Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing facility with heavy dust and noise.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards for packaging and labeling.

  • Strong attention to safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.

  • Ability to work effectively in small teams and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse/manufacturing facility that produces and distributes graphite. The environment is very dirty, dusty, hot, and noisy, and contractors should expect to get very dirty during their shifts. The production team operates in small groups, with only a few production operators on each team. The position follows a rotating 12-hour DuPont shift schedule, working both days (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) within the same month. Personal protective equipment is provided, except for steel-toe footwear. Steel-toe boots or shoes must meet ASTM F2412/F2413 impact testing requirements, be all leather or leather-like with no canvas or porous materials, possess a defined heel of at least 3/8 inch, cover the entire foot, and have no ventilation holes. The dress code includes steel-toe boots or shoes and durable work clothes; contractors may wear a T-shirt and jeans or work pants until uniforms are provided through the uniform service.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.09 - $20.09/hr.
