Hawaii Pacific Health Physician - Sleep Medicine - Part Time in Honolulu, Hawaii
About the Opportunity
Hawai‘i Pacific Health is seeking a dedicated and board-certified Pediatric Sleep Medicine for a part-time employed position to join our team on the island of Oahu .
What You’ll Do:
Providing quality care to sleep patient s from infancy to young adulthood in primarily the ambulatory clinic, but also at times in the inpatient setting
While in-person encounters are preferred, our clinical services are fully supported by telehealth capabilities
New patient consultation : evaluation, diagnostic testing, and management of therapy of sleep disorders
Follow up encounters : re-evaluation and adjustment of management of the patient’s therapeutic plan of sleep disorders
Review of Polysomnograms (PSG) orders: determination of candidacy of patient for PSG; approving of proceeding with PSG as ordered or recommending either change of type of PSG ordered or sleep medicine consultation for evaluation of whether PSG is appropriate diagnostic testing
Interpretation of PSG and availability for answering ordering providers questions about interpretation
Providing call coverage for the KMCWC Pediatric PSG Laboratory
Collaborating with the members of HPHMG’s Pediatric Pulmonology, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep Medicine section , which may include:
Providing ongoing sleep education of physicians, fellows, residents, and medical students
Assisting with quality work of the section to continue to provide high quality care of/for the patients
Collaborating with KMCWC Pediatric PSG Laboratory:
Provide management/leadership of the PSG Laboratory, potentially including providing Medical Directorship of the Pediatric PSG Laboratory (please see separate job description for the Medical Directorship which is available on request)
Provide ongoing education of PSG Technicians
Assist with quality work of the Pediatric PSG Laboratory to provide high quality care of/for the patients
Promotion of Sleep Medicine and Laboratory that may include, but no limited to lectures, marketing opportunities, and advertisements

Qualifications:
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine
Prior training in Pediatric Pulmonology
Eligible / Obtained a medical license in the state of Hawai‘i

About Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children
Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit medical center delivers an average of 6,000 babies per year and is also a medical teaching and research facility.
