Hawaii Pacific Health Physician - Hospitalists - Part Time in Honolulu, Hawaii

About the Opportunity

Hawai‘i Pacific Health is seeking a highly motivated and Board Certified or Board Eligible Part Time Hospitalist to join our collaborative group that provides comprehensive inpatient care for the islands of Hawaii.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients admitted with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

  • Perform thorough patient evaluations , including history taking, physical examinations, diagnostic assessment, and development of evidence‑based treatment plans.

  • Manage admissions, daily rounding, cross‑coverage, and discharges while ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and care teams.

  • Coordinate care for medically complex patients in collaboration with consulting services, including subspecialists, nursing, pharmacy, and case management.

  • Respond to acute clinical changes and emergencies , including rapid response and code situations, working closely with emergency medicine, ICU, and specialty teams.

  • Facilitate smooth transitions of care through timely discharge planning, medication reconciliation, and communication with primary care and post‑acute providers.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, clinical pathway development, and adoption of evidence‑based best practices within hospital medicine.

  • Contribute to a supportive teaching environment as applicable, including collaboration with advanced practice providers, residents, and medical staff.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Eligible to obtain a medical license in the State of Hawaii
