Jacobs Maui Civil Engineering Project Manager in Honolulu, Hawaii

As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as the Project Manager and/or Technical Lead - planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from (but not limited to) the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. Among the many types of projects led by this team are pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and stormwater management in addition to transportation engineering projects from roadway modernization, transit, and complete streets and multimodal mobility improvements. You will be leading a multidiscipline team to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies. Also, you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach early and mid-career engineers and designers and to be mentored by senior staff. Nurturing your existing and developing new relationships, you will help to identify new opportunities in which Jacobs Hawaii can further service our clients and communities.

This role is located on the island of Maui and is aligned to the Honolulu office.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct management for planning and design of small to large projects and project teams

• Hawaii Professional Engineer (P.E.)  License (or ability to obtain within 6 months) 

• Demonstrated experience working on successful projects for statewide and county agencies across Hawaii

• Client facing leadership, serving as the point of contact, facilitating design/production meetings, and supporting proposal development

• Working knowledge of applicable state design standards

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

• Proven experience managing multi-discipline teams of design, scientific, and technology professionals

• Strong network with local municipalities, private utilities, and other water/wastewater, conveyance, and water resources clients

• Strong networks and relationships in the Hawaii transportation market, including existing and potential clients and teaming partners

• Technical understanding of highway/roadway design standards including horizontal and vertical geometrics, drainage, utilities, traffic signals, signing, lighting, ITS, erosion and sediment control practices, stormwater management, and specifications

• Strong proposal and technical writing skills

• Active in a professional organization

• Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
