Robert Half Commercial Property Accountant in Honolulu, Hawaii
Description
We are looking for a Commercial Property Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. The ideal candidate will handle comprehensive accounting processes for commercial real estate assets, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:
• Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of commercial properties, including month-end close processes and financial analysis.
• Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and ensure the accuracy of all financial reports.
• Perform reconciliations for balance sheets, bank accounts, and variances to maintain financial integrity.
• Oversee tenant-related accounting activities such as billing, collections, escalations, and expense recovery adjustments.
• Calculate and reconcile monthly charges for operating expenses, rent percentages, and management fees.
• Monitor cash flow, manage loan draws, and ensure proper funding and disbursement tracking.
• File General Excise Tax and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Develop and present annual budgets, forecasts, and assist with reforecasting in collaboration with property managers.
• Manage accounting and reporting for capital projects, construction, and large-scale repairs.
• Contribute to special projects and provide ad hoc reporting as required by management.
Requirements • Extensive experience in full-cycle accounting for commercial real estate properties.
• Strong proficiency in financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with real estate accounting software is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines independently while maintaining collaboration with management.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with teams and stakeholders.
• High ethical standards and reliability in handling sensitive financial data.
