Manulife Director, Asia Procurement in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

The Director, Asia Procurement – Category Sourcing Lead (Technology, AI & Operations Solutions) is a senior regional leadership role responsible for driving strategic sourcing and commercial value across critical categories in Asia. This role offers the opportunity to shape how Manulife partners with key suppliers to enable digital transformation, operational efficiency, and health and longevity‑led initiatives. Managing a highly strategic spend portfolio of approximately USD 100M annually, the role moves procurement upstream from transactional execution to enterprise value enablement. You will work closely with Technology and Business leaders to design scalable commercial models, accelerate delivery, and balance cost, speed, and risk in a regulated environment. This opportunity provides strong visibility, leadership impact, and the chance to build and lead a high‑performing regional sourcing capability.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead regional category sourcing strategies across Technology, AI, and Operations Solutions.

  • Deliver material enterprise value through savings, cost avoidance, and improved commercial structures across a large, complex spend portfolio.

  • Partner with Technology and Business leaders to shape sourcing and commercial decisions early to support speed, scalability, and business outcomes.

  • Lead complex, high‑value sourcing initiatives and negotiations, including regional and global enterprise agreements.

  • Lead and develop a regional team of Category Managers, with matrix oversight of shared services resources.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in category sourcing, procurement, or commercial leadership, ideally covering Technology, AI, and/or Operations Solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience managing or influencing large, complex spend portfolios (approximately USD 100M annually).

  • Proven ability to deliver material enterprise value in a regulated environment.

  • Strong experience leading senior stakeholders across multiple markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Regional experience working across Asia markets and cultures.

  • Experience operating within a matrix or shared‑services procurement model.

  • Strong commercial judgment and risk management experience in regulated industries.

  • Experience partnering closely with Technology, Operations, or Digital leadership.
