This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Hong Kong office.

What the day will look like
Lead and managing project team to deliver innovative hedging and asset management strategies in PathWise to effectively manage complex exposures that combine Actuarial, Financial, and Capital Market risks.
Play a key role in quantitative research projects that support investment decision processes, utilizing quantitative skills, such as time series regressions, optimization, Monte Carlo simulation, and data visualization techniques.
Further the development of robust processes for hedging, strategic asset allocation, scenario generator calibration and insurance company financial reporting.
Develop and maintain Economic Scenario Generators used in the valuation of financial assets and insurance liabilities.
Develop, maintain, and document sophisticated financial asset and liability models in PathWise to support various investment management and risk management projects.
Lead the Daily Hedge Reporting and P&L Analysis Services for Aon’s clients
Provide analytical support to portfolio managers, traders, and risk managers on the risk, return and transaction cost/market impact of investment portfolios and strategies.
How this opportunity is different
This position will support the Hedging Solutions services provided by the Life Solutions at Aon. The core responsibilities include developing and analyzing hedging and asset allocation strategies in the PathWise platform and designing new financial models and processes within the system.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
10 years+ years of experience as a quantitative analyst in an investment management/risk management/hedging/model vetting role
Knowledge of Singapore and Hongkong reserves and capital requirements for the life insurance industry, covering products such as Indexed and Variable Annuities, ULSG, Participate and traditional life insurance products
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong programming skills in Python, experience in implementing quantitative finance libraries in Python or C++
Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance), PhD a plus
Expert knowledge of financial assets including derivatives and their valuation models
Expert knowledge of stochastic interest rate, equity and credit models
Knowledge of statistics, mathmatical finance and economics
Strong numerical technique skills in Monte-Carlo simulation, optimization, time series analysis and PDE
Strong communication skills for heavy team and client interactions
Member of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries preferred
Strong communication skills for heavy team and client interactions
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Experience working with financial software packages such as Numerix, FinCAD a plus
