Cognizant Android Test Engineer in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Responsibilities
Perform functional, non-functional, and regression testing on Android devices across multiple OS versions and hardware configurations
Execute manual test cases on physical Android devices to validate application behavior, performance, and stability
Validate features against functional specifications, requirements, and user stories
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for test execution and defect reporting
Log, track, and validate defects in a defect management tool (e.g., Jira or similar), including clear steps to reproduce and supporting evidence (logs/screenshots)
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to support defect triage, clarification, retesting, and closure
Design, create, and maintain detailed test cases based on requirements, specifications, and use cases; update as requirements or fixes change
Support test reporting (daily/weekly/cycle-level) and maintain test artifacts, execution status, defect summaries, and quality metrics
Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues clearly to project stakeholders
Work closely with QA leads and cross-functional teams to ensure timely test execution and issue resolution across the project lifecycle
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Strong experience performing Android device testing
Good knowledge of executing tests on physical Android devices while following SOPs
Good ability to create and maintain test cases based on requirements and user stories
Strong defect management skills, including clear defect documentation and evidence collection (logs/screenshots)
Good experience supporting test reporting and maintaining test artifacts and metrics
Strong collaboration and communication skills with QA leads, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders
B.Tech or Engineering equivalent
Preferred
- Fair understanding of Python scripts and test automation concepts
