Position Purpose
The Finance Director, APAC is a senior leadership role accountable for all financial operations across the APAC region. This role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on oversight of regional accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial infrastructure.
The Finance Director will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and compliance with statutory and group requirements, while acting as a trusted partner to regional leadership and operations teams.
This role owns financial performance, forecasting integrity, cash management, and risk oversight across APAC entities. It also plays a critical leadership role in enabling TAIT’s expansion across the region by establishing new entities, financial frameworks, and scalable infrastructure to support growth. A key aspect of the role is working closely with external finance experts and advisors in local markets to ensure full compliance and effective setup of operations across diverse jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Regional Financial Leadership & Ownership
Lead the APAC finance function, covering general accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial controls
Own the accuracy and integrity of regional P&L and balance sheet reporting
Oversee timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in line with group timelines
Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across APAC
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, governance, and documentation standards
Strategic Business Partnering
Act as a key financial advisor to APAC leadership, providing actionable insights to support business performance and decision-making
Support regional leadership with budgeting, cost management, and financial planning
Align financial priorities with regional and global business objectives
Provide financial visibility to support operational efficiency and resource allocation
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
Lead regional budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Ensure reliability and transparency of financial forecasts across entities
Monitor actual vs forecast performance and drive accountability for variances
Enhance financial reporting to improve clarity, insight, and decision-making
Cash Flow, Working Capital & Risk Management
Oversee regional cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Ensure effective billing, collections, and cash management processes
Identify and proactively manage financial risks across the region
Support financial stability and liquidity across multiple jurisdictions
Compliance, Audit & Governance
Act as the primary finance lead for statutory reporting, audits, and tax compliance in APAC
Lead external and internal audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
Ensure adherence to group accounting policies and local regulatory requirements
Strengthen financial governance and compliance frameworks across all APAC entities
Engage, manage, and coordinate with external finance experts (e.g., local accountants, tax advisors, auditors, payroll providers) to ensure full compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements
Regional Expansion & Entity Establishment
Lead the finance workstream for establishing new legal entities, branches, and operating structures across APAC as business needs arise
Partner with Legal, Tax, HR, and external advisors to design optimal entity structures aligned with commercial and regulatory requirements
Utilize and coordinate with local external finance experts to navigate jurisdiction-specific requirements and ensure compliant setup
Ensure all new entities are fully compliant with local statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations from inception
Lead integration of new entities into regional and global finance structures, reporting, and governance
People Leadership & Team Development
Lead, develop, and structure the APAC finance team
Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance management
Build a high-performing, collaborative, and service-oriented finance function
Partner effectively with centralized and global finance teams to ensure clarity of roles and accountability
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls
Enhance reporting, automation, and data quality across the region
Align regional finance operations with global standards while addressing local business needs
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Fully qualified accountant (CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Significant progressive experience in finance, including leadership roles in multi-entity or international environments
Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with commercial acumen
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and business partnering
Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders
Preferred Requirements
Experience operating across multiple countries within APAC
Experience managing finance in newly established or scaling international operations
Strong understanding of local statutory and tax compliance requirements across APAC markets
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor or similar)
Experience working with external advisors across multiple jurisdictions
