Position Overview
The Level I Receiving Inspector (Mechanical Components/AS9100 Environment) will work a weekend shift (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Level I Receiving Inspector to join our team and ensure that all incoming materials, components, and products meet the stringent quality requirements of our AS9100-certified processes. The Level I Receiving Inspector will be responsible for performing basic inspection tasks, verifying documentation, and ensuring compliance with purchase order requirements, drawings, and specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality and reliability of products in aerospace manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Work 12 hours per day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. NOTE: There will be 36 hours worked each week but 40 hours a week will be paid.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and assemblies in accordance with AS9100 quality standards, company procedures, and engineering specifications.
Verify that materials are received with the correct documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and supplier inspection reports.
Ensure that products match purchase orders, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Identify and document non-conforming materials or products using the company’s Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.
Collaborate with the Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to resolve issues with non-conforming or defective materials.
Accurately record inspection results and create detailed reports for quality documentation and traceability.
Use basic inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement instruments to confirm dimensional accuracy.
Maintain proper organization and labeling of quarantined materials awaiting review or disposition.
Ensure compliance with all AS9100 standards, company policies, and safety procedures during inspection activities.
Support internal and external audits by providing inspection records and documentation as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
1-2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in an AS9100 or aerospace manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other Quality Management Systems is preferred.
Technical Skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency in using basic inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Knowledge of material traceability and documentation requirements in aerospace (e.g., CoCs, FAIRs).
Ability to use a computer with Microsoft Office, Teams, Visual, Oracle, etc.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection processes.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills for reporting and resolving quality issues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25lbs, following safety guidelines.
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while performing inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
Previous training in AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
Work Environment
Most of these job duties are performed in a receiving inspection area/room that is temperature controlled to 68°±4°. Some inspection activities are performed outside.
May involve exposure to noise, temperature variations, or other warehouse conditions.

Bonus or Equity
This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.
Pay Range
The hourly salary for this position in local currency is $17.48-32.48.
