Position Summary
We are seeking a Process Technician to support 3rd shift daily manufacturing operations by performing machine setup, startup, troubleshooting, and processing adjustments across all phases of injection molding and secondary operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe production, consistent quality, and efficient changeovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up injection molding machines, including cleaning, fine-tuning, and making adjustments based on part requirements and color changes
- Perform processing per approved process sheets and ensure machines are producing to specification
- Troubleshoot molding processes and make processing adjustments as needed
- Set up auxiliary equipment during changeovers (robots, conveyors, date stamps, air tools, etc.)
- Ensure quality parts are produced from the tool; apply SPC knowledge as required
- Identify maintenance needs, perform minor repairs when applicable, and assist with major repairs
- Maintain tool condition and follow tool repair/maintenance procedures
- Complete required documentation (First Article Checklist, setup logbooks, and related records)
- Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas
- Follow all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures
- Use RJG equipment for troubleshooting where applicable
- Support continuous improvement efforts such as reducing changeover time
- Serve as backup for Mold & Machine Preventative Maintenance Technician as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma required (technical training preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Experience processing resins such as polypropylene, nylon, acetal, polycarbonate, and other engineering-grade materials
- Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- SPC knowledge preferred
- Ability to work weekends as business needs require
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Process monitoring experience
- Injection molding setup and changeover experience
- Experience working with robots, conveyors, and other auxiliary equipment
