Staffing, Inc Injection Molding Process Technician in Holland, Michigan

Staffing Inc. is partnered with a fast-growing furniture manufacturer company in Holland, MI who is actively looking for a qualified Injection Mold Process Technician employee who is ready to start immediately. The employee in this position will independently change molds, handle molds, overhead cranes, and hi-lo, and prepare changeovers in the injection molding department. The candidate will perform preventative maintenance activities in the molding department. Assist Engineering Manager with machine processing, process control and documentation.

Injection Molding Process Technician Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed, protective equipment used when required, and audits and checklists are completed daily.
  • Follows safety procedures to perform mold changes and handle molds. Understands lockout procedures, safety checklists, and safety equipment such as hard hats.
  • Performs mold change functions using an overhead crane, hi-lo, mold cart, and hand tools
  • Understands the details of preventative maintenance needs of each mold.
  • Uses the mold change process and strives to reduce mold change times by reducing actions required to perform changes and documenting best practices.
  • Understands molding machine and robot functions for mold changes and robot end-of-arm tooling changes. Examples include, mold clamp and ejector settings, machine material purge process, and robot programming for tool changes.
  • Assist mold preventative maintenance in the molding department. Perform maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance on injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment, and material handling equipment.
  • Completes toll and color changeovers, and monitors equipment to ensure material is fed properly to machines.
  • Assist the Production Manager with being proactive with scheduling, changeover, and troubleshooting.
  • Able to multitask projects, assignments, and daily activities.
  • Provide backup to the Engineering Manager for processing, quality control, and documentation.
  • Backup to other functions, such as re-grind, re-work, breaks, and 5S.
  • Look for ways to eliminate waste, improve product quality, improve safety, and improve work.

Injection Molding Process Technician Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

2+ years' experience in injection molding technology or related field. Demonstrated Injection molding mold change experience. Some experience with molding processing and robotics. Experience in hydraulics, and electrical maintenance repair methods and problem solving. Computer skills with typing and e-mail. Fanuc 6 axis Robot and Toyo molding machine experience is a plus.

Hi-Lo certification preferred

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, repeatedly bend and reach, and use hands to manipulate tools and parts. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and frequently crawl under equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and depth perception

The employee is exposed to dirty greasy environments on an hourly basis. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hard hats are required

Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
