Job Title: Sewing Machine Operator
Shift: Mon-Friday; 9am-5pm; $18-$22 per hour depending on experience
Job Description
The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in producing samples efficiently and accurately, while also possessing the ability to identify potential manufacturing challenges, resolve complex assembly issues, and comprehend the intended use requirements of the final product.
Responsibilities
Provide valuable feedback to the design team during the prototyping phase to aid in the creation of products optimized for mass production.
Cut and assemble backpack samples from design sketches, CAD patterns, and specification packages.
Assist the product team with assembly methods and resolve sewing-related problems.
Effectively communicate and troubleshoot with the patternmaker and product team.
Complete projects in a timely manner.
Verify pattern sets for accuracy and integrity.
Evaluate and measure finished prototypes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sample lab tools and raw materials.
Perform administrative responsibilities including maintaining common areas, distributing mail, and shipping packages.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in sewing, upholstery, and use of sewing machines, including industrial sewing machines.
At least 5 years of experience in sewing.
Experience with double-needled sewing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Hand sewing skills.
Basic computer skills.

Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The position involves working in a well-organized sample lab environment, utilizing sewing machines and industrial sewing equipment. The dress code is professional and suitable for a manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
