As a Senior Transportation Roadway Engineer, you will play a key technical and leadership role on complex highway and transportation projects. You will apply deep roadway design expertise while also helping guide project direction, mentor junior staff, and strengthen client relationships. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing project outcomes, and growing into expanded project management and client-facing responsibilities.
You will:
• Lead and contribute to the design of complex highway and roadway infrastructure projects, from concept development through final design.
• Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.
• Apply advanced engineering judgment to solve multifaceted technical challenges and identify opportunities for improved design approaches.
• Serve as a technical leader and quality resource, reviewing plans and supporting design standards and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery.
• Engage directly with clients, participating in meetings, technical discussions, and presentations to help build trusted relationships.
• Support the development of junior engineers through mentorship, technical guidance, and informal training.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah.
• Significant experience in transportation engineering with an emphasis on roadway and highway infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads and OpenRoads.
• Extensive experience with plans preparation and design documentation.
• Previous Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) experience.
• Experience with alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, CM/GC, or Progressive Design-Build.
Skills and Experience Beneficial to This Role (Not Required):
• Previous experience working with the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and/or Utah municipalities.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D to guide design projects using this platform.
