Job Purpose
Keeps school buildings and grounds clean and safe. Maintains security and reports areas for needed repairs to Principal and or Maintenance Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Turns off alarms, turns on lights, turns on copy machine in the office.
- Checks perimeter of the buildings.
- Picks up and empties trash.
- Cleans classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, gymnasium, locker rooms, and weight rooms when assigned, which may include tables, desks, and chairs.
- Cleans restrooms and re-stocks with tissue, towels, and soap.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpet also cleaning and maintaining tile floors.
- Changes light bulbs and makes minor repairs.
- Cleans windows.
- Responds to calls from the school office or maintenance barn.
- May work sporting events.
- Assists maintenance staff with setting up and taking down rooms for special events.

Required Qualifications
- Previous custodial or general labor experience is helpful but not required.
- Valid AZ Drivers License.
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and tools.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board\'s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Work Environment
Inside: Offices, School Buildings.
Outside: Outdoor Facilities.
Indoor/Outdoor: Travel from location to location.
Occasional Travel: For required training or professional development (In district, out of district, in state, and/or out of state).
Possibly exposed to extremes of temperature. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, speaking, turning, grasping and carrying items over 40 lbs.
