Job Purpose
Drives school bus; transports students to and from school. Maintains safety and discipline while en route.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs pre-trip inspection of bus.
- Transports students to school and back home.
- Maintains student safety and discipline on the bus.
- Prepares discipline reports if necessary.
- Cleans bus inside and out and repairs seat covers as needed.
- Performs post-trip inspection of bus.
- Reports any maintenance problems to Head Mechanic.
- Responsible for fueling the bus as needed.
- Maintains mileage log required by the state.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Commercial Drivers License with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake endorsements
- Arizona School Bus Drivers Certification
- Must pass yearly random and 9 panel drug screens
- Current Physical examination
- Current certification in First Aid Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Ability to pass Physical Performance Test which includes lifting 30 pounds.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board\'s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Work Environment
Inside: Offices, School Buildings.
Outside: Outdoor Facilities.
Indoor/Outdoor: Travel from location to location.
Occasional Travel: For required training or professional development (In district, out of district, in state, and/or out of state).
Possibly exposed to extremes of temperature. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, speaking, turning, grasping and carrying items over 40 lbs.
