Apprentice Plumber

Overview

This position is for an Apprentice Plumber who has an active license in the state of Illinois. This role will be working under the supervision of a foreman or superintendent and will be mostly focused on new build residential and commercial projects in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The job-site will change as they team completes projects to new sites. Service territory is as south as Aurora, but up to Wisconsin, as west as DeKalb and as east as Chicago (but not in the city). Responsibilities

  • Install plumbing lines throughout new-build structures, running lines from the ground level up through the building.

  • Connect and set up fixtures including sinks, showers, hose lines, and related components.

  • Work exclusively on interior/building structure plumbing—no ground‑work or excavation required.

  • Utilize personal basic hand tools and wrenches for daily tasks; specialized tools and equipment will be supplied by the company.

  • Ensure all work meets safety standards, project specifications, and quality expectations.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete installations efficiently and accurately.

Skills

  • Plumbing installation skills for running lines, connecting fixtures, and working within new‑build structures.

  • Ability to read and follow blueprints or layout drawings for proper pipe routing and fixture placement.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools (wrenches, pliers, cutters, etc.).

  • Experience installing sinks, showers, hose lines, and other basic plumbing components.

  • Knowledge of proper pipe fittings, connections, and leak‑prevention techniques.

  • Ability to work safely within active construction environments and follow company safety standards.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify installation issues or alignment problems.

  • Attention to detail to ensure clean, accurate, and code‑compliant installations.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

  • Physical capability to lift, bend, climb, and work inside multi‑level structures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Active Apprentice Card for the State of Illinois (Required)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hoffman Estates, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.
