Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and develops test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
Responsibilities:
Designs and implements test plans for complex technological projects, and interprets specifications
Confers with engineering personnel to review test plans, including content and duration, in order to generate optimum insight
Provides first level failure analysis and works directly with engineers, taking a critical role in root cause determination
Trains junior technicians and coordinates the activities of other personnel working on multiple test projects
Constructs and prepares necessary equipment to perform diagnostic tests on machinery and components
Prepares technical reports citing issues and errors within technical process
Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Qualifications:
Associates Degree required
6-9 years testing experience
Understands schematics and electronic documentation
