As Senior Marketing Manager Southern Europe (m/f/d), you will lead and execute marketing strategy across Italy, Greece, Spain, and Portugal, with a strong focus on Italy, driving profitable growth in the diabetes care market. You will own end‑to‑end upstream and downstream marketing, translating insight into impactful brand, market activation, and commercial execution in close collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Based in Milan (hybrid) and reporting to the Country Business Leader Italy & Greece, this role suits a strategic, hands‑on marketing leader with strong analytical skills, a growth mindset, and a genuine passion for improving patients’ lives.
The Role
Brand & Portfolio Management
Develop and execute upstream and downstream strategies for the insulin injection portfolio and upcoming product launches.
Manage product positioning, messaging, and branding in line with corporate strategy.
Lead brand-compliant demand generation initiatives to support ambitious sales targets
Go-to-Market Execution
Adapt strategies according to go-to-market models (tender,retailB2B) and regional realities, ensuring relevance and impact at local level.
Implement and execute local plans across tender and retail channels.
Manage the end-to-end tender process, from tender education to tender submission and post-award activities, driving demand generation and prescription.
Translate strategies into impactful in-market campaigns and tactics, defining “Where to Play and How to Win.”
Collaborate with Sales to define and implement effective campaigns, ensuring close attention to the specific needs and dynamics of each region while maintaining a helicopter view to guarantee strategic alignment and consistency across Southern Europe.
Upskill and train the sales team to ensure they are confident and proficient in delivering promotional pitches and using marketing materials effectively
Enhance execution through advanced utilization of CRM platforms (Marketing Cloud, Pitcher, SFDC).
Customer & Market Engagement
Ability to develop and tailor value propositions for diverse stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patients, patient associations, pharmacies and payers.
Plan and execute congress activities and KOL (Key Opinion Leader) engagement programs to enhance market visibility and credibility.
Manage stakeholder with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
Solid understanding of healthcare market dynamics and customer engagement strategies.
Performance Monitoring & Analytics
Own the measurement framework by tracking KPIs, market share, and ROI of marketing initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability across all channels.
Conduct in-depth competitor benchmarking and market intelligence analysis, translating insights into strategic adjustments that strengthen competitive positioning.
Leverage advanced analytics tools to generate actionable insights, transforming complex data sets into clear recommendations that drive business growth.
Translate numbers into strategy by connecting performance metrics with commercial objectives, ensuring marketing investments deliver maximum impact
Embedding a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
Continuously optimize campaigns and tactics through rigorous testing, measurement, and refinement, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
Experienced & Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10 + years of progressive experience in diverse marketing roles.
Experience navigating tendering processes
Experience gained in marketing roles both at headquarters and affiliate/local level, demonstrating ability to adapt strategies across different organizational contexts is preferred.
Strong preference for candidates with experience in medical devices; direct experience in Diabetes Care is a benefit
