WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
The Estimating Assistant supports the Estimating Department by preparing quote documentation, coordinating required information, and ensuring timely and accurate submission of estimates. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments to support the overall estimating process.
Key Responsibilities
Assign quote numbers andmaintainaccuratequote logs.
Create and organize quote folders for new opportunities.
Obtain freight quotes from approved carriers as needed.
Request preliminary project schedules from the Scheduling Department.
Prepare quotes using estimator cost worksheets and various quote templates.
Track deadlines and ensure estimates aresubmittedon time.
Perform general administrative duties to support the estimating team.
Serve as back‑up to Debbie May, Customer Service Representative, whenrequired.
Create project folders for awarded (captured) quotes and ensure proper documentation is filed.
YOU HAVE:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently within a team environment.
