Job Summary:
The ideal candidate is comfortable operatingindependently, takes ownership of security outcomes, applies best-practicesecurity principles across cloud and on-prem environments, and adopts asecurity-first mindset. This position will be responsible for securing andmaintaining network systems to ensure optimal performance and security. Thenetwork security associate will assist in the management, documentation, &optimization of the cooperative’s network & infrastructure. This positionis also responsible for implementing network & cybersecurity technologiesin accordance with PCI and NIST standards and will serve as the technical leadfor all cybersecurity related alerts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors day-to-day operations of the cooperative, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, & availability of the organization's network (e.g., Cellular, LAN, WAN, Wireless and VoIP), infrastructure, and SaaS based applications.
- Review and validate network & email firewall change requests, offering guidance to ensure security and integrity.
- Plans & recommends changes to increase the availability & security of the network.
- Development and updating of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide continuous monitoring of the network & all assets for any signs of anomalies and/or indicators of compromise (IOCs) and configuring alerts where necessary.
- Investigate network & security-related events, situations, & incidents by analyzing & responding to alerts in a timely manner and in accordance with established Service Level Objectives.
- Collaborate internally to develop and implement strategies to balance security recommendations, compliance, and business needs.
- Support complex networks, including network design, integration, testing and final acceptance.
- Manage user lifecycle procedures from initialization through the deprovisioning of accounts in Active Directory & Okta.
- Assist in patch and vulnerability management efforts
- Serves as level 2 support & an escalation point for the helpdesk.
- Continue education/learning regarding network and security related technology/practices.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices & monitor industry relevant publications & advisories.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer related area and 2+ years of network infrastructure and endpoint security experience preferred.
- In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 6+ years of progressive experience in IT field with valid industry certifications.
- Customer service & interpersonal skills are essential.
- Familiarity with firewalls, EDR, email security, IAM and network infrastructure.
- Experience implementing networking and network security solutions (e.g., Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), Okta, etc.,) Ability to clearly explain security issues, root causes, and business impact.
- Experience with adherence to compliance standards such as PCI & NIST
- Experience administering and maintaining the following: - Microsoft Windows Server OS- Microsoft Windows desktop OS.- Cisco IOS Microsoft 365
- Network +, Security +, CCNA, Advanced Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SIPs, DIDs, and AWS components such as; VPCs, S3, & load balancing.
- Provide after-hours support for infrastructure-related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
- Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must satisfactorily pass the EMC's employment physical examination, criminal background, and required drug screen.

- General office environment.
- Requires sitting at desk using a computer most of the day.
- Occasionally required to move machines, printed paper, and printed material.
- Required to provide on-call support.
- Must be able to report to work in disaster situations
